Brita Professional has become the first water filter manufacturer to develop BIM-compliant content.
Its Purity ST, Purity Steam and Purity C water filters, along with all necessary accessories, are now available for commercial catering designers to download from the CESABIM database.
CESABIM is an online resource for designers to access free BIM-compatible 3D models, with up to date live information, enabling them to meet UK government legislation that all public-funded projects must be undertaken using BIM software by April 2016.
Miles Dawson, sales director, Brita Professional commented: “Being BIM compliant means consultants can make sure everything fits into the space available in conjunction with M&E requirements. And that it meets project budgets.
“Over the 50 years or so that our filters have been in the market we’ve invested heavily in research and development, meaning our technology has remained relevant as the industry evolves.
“Ensuring our commercial products were BIM ready was key to this and an example of how we continually invest to meet the needs of consultants and the wider market.”
Brita Professional’s 3D models and data can be downloaded as an IFC file, which is an ISO international open standard, meaning it is compatible for use on other BIM software platforms.
